How We Create Sustainable Change
We generate evidence that informs policy, strengthens advocacy, and shapes responsive institutions.

We equip communities, grassroots organizations, and public institutions with the skills, systems, and knowledge to lead change.

We work with government, development partners, and civil society to translate evidence into lasting reforms and improved public services.

We strengthen civic participation by empowering citizens to organize, advocate, and hold institutions accountable.

Our Strategies

We focus our strategic policy advocacy and engagement efforts on human rights, good governance and justice, working closely with communities, grassroots movements, civil society organization, government and state actors to drive reforms that strengthen transparency and accountability. Our approach combines public awareness campaigns, grassroots mobilization, capacity strengthening and stakeholder dialogue to address systemic barriers.
Kenya’s civil society has been a critical guardrail for transparency and human rights, yet many grassroots organizations lack the capacity to fully play this role. Over the next five years, the CSO Network will strengthen the resilience and influence of community-based partners through targeted capacity building. We will enhance skills in advocacy, policy analysis, human rights, institutional governance, financial oversight and monitoring, empowering them to promote accountability and drive governance reforms.
Many communities in Western Kenya face barriers to meaningful participation including limited awareness of rights, lack of access to information, and social intimidation. To overcome this, we will center justice and human rights in our engagement efforts. Through civic education, “know your rights” campaigns, and legal clinics, we will empower communities with the knowledge and tools to engage in governance, safeguard their rights, and drive community-led change.
We continue to strengthen our strategic alliances with government agencies, civil society, development partners, the private sector and community leaders. These collaborations are designed to share best practices, align efforts and amplify impact in advancing gender equality, human rights and accountable governance.
The digital space offers powerful tools for advocacy, mobilization, and connection—but also presents risks like misinformation and digital violence. We are committed to empowering young people in Western Kenya to harness technology safely for civic engagement and influence. Our approach includes building digital capacity, strengthening youth-led networks, and creating platforms for peer learning and policy dialogue. To ensure safety, we will integrate cybersecurity education, digital protection training, and secure communication platforms into all relevant programs.
