The conflict issues affecting communities we work with are resource based, political, ethnic and class based and therefore we apply different strategies which include, building capacity of citizens to understand the structural causes of poverty giving rise to conflict. We carry out civic education for the promotion of peaceful election, election preparedness and prevention of sexual and gender-based violence and work to strengthen organizational capacities of community groups to increase their visibility, working closely with peace monitors and community leaders, while collaborating closely with Human Rights Organizations, community Social Justice Centres, to monitor, document and disseminate findings to demand accountability and influence institutional reforms.
Or interventions enhance their capacity building skill in conflict preparedness and prevention strategies, strengthening women networks and increasing their role in peace building promoting cohesion and integration, by promoting inclusivity – in policy development, budgeting for equitable development, inclusive leadership, influencing the need for lobbying for participation of women in peace building activities and their engagement in safety and security.
