CSO Network is implementing a two-year advocacy program aimed at strengthening access to justice for survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) through a comprehensive strategy centered on legislative reforms, participatory engagement, and community-driven initiatives across four counties: Kisumu, Kakamega, Vihiga, and Homabay.
By focusing on these key areas, the project leverages existing coordination and collaboration mechanisms to enhance justice for GBV survivors, ultimately improving service delivery. The initiative targets County Governments, the Health, Budget, and Gender sectors, and key stakeholders within structures such as the Court Users Committee (CUC). It also engages the Judiciary, Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs), and Social Justice Centers to foster strong local partnerships and networks. Through enhanced coordination, capacity building, and awareness creation, the program seeks to drive sustainable change.
At the end of the implementation period, we aim to:
✅ Strengthen coordination and collaboration among government agencies, CSOs, and communities for effective GBV prevention and response.
✅ Review and update laws and policies to enhance legal frameworks for GBV prevention and justice.
✅ Build the capacity of service providers and stakeholders to improve access to comprehensive GBV services and justice.
✅ Empower grassroots organizations and community groups to advocate for gender equality and push for stronger GBV prevention measures.
This program is grounded in principles of inclusivity, survivor-centeredness, and sustainability, recognizing the systemic challenges survivors face—such as deep-rooted cultural norms, inadequate infrastructure, and limited institutional capacity.
